Media Consent: Shoreline Studios’ Taping Reels

I consent to the possible usage of 1-2 seconds from this self-tape in a video reel for Shoreline Studios’ social media platforms. â€‹I understand no original audio or project information will be included in this reel. Video Example

  • Do I pay anything?
    As a Full or Apprentice Member of UBCP/ACTRA, it will only cost you $15.00 for a 30-minute self-taping session.
  • How long is this program available?
    Until further notice, the Self-Tape Initiative has been extended to support UBCP/ACTRA Full and Apprentice Members effective Friday, April 1, 2022.
  • What if I need more than 30 minutes?
    If you'd like to book beyond 30 minutes, we will do our best to find you a window of time that is available. However, because you are taking up an additional timeslot, you will be responsible for paying for the additional time ($30). Please note, this is in addition to the $15 fee for your initial 30-minute session that the union is partially subsidizing. You will be paying a total of $45 for a 60-minute session.
  • What can I film during my session?
    This program is designed for actors to film union auditions only. ie. slate shots and scene reels are not permitted. If you are looking to film a slate shot or update your scene reel, please book a Standard session (not subsidized by the union).
  • How many projects can I tape during my session?
    There is a 2 project limit per session. If you would like to tape 2 projects, please plan accordingly as you will not be able to go beyond your 30-minute session. The goal is to come in as prepared as you would be for an in-room audition.
  • What happens after I fill out the form?
    You will receive a confirmation email from tapings@shoreline-studios.com to confirm your appointment. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam folder.
  • What do I need to bring?
    Upon arrival, you will need to provide your UBCP/ACTRA membership card to reception to confirm your status with the union. Please remember to bring a copy of your sides if you've chosen to not attach it in the submission form.
  • How will my auditions be sent?
    Audition files are sent via WeTransfer. If you have an audition link that the files must be uploaded to, please have any necessary login info ready.
  • When will I receive my auditions?
    We will get your audition sent off as soon as possible, but please be prepared for a 1-2 hour turnaround time.
  • What if I'm running behind to my appointment?
    You will still be required to finish within your time slot.
  • I wasn't able to attach my sides or I'm no longer able to bring a copy of my sides.
    No worries at all! Once you receive your booking confirmation email, you can simply attach them in a reply.
  • How many sessions can I book?
    This program subsidizes one 30-minute session per day. If you'd like to come back for an additional taping session, it will be booked as a standard* one. *Standard sessions are not covered by UBCP/ACTRA; therefore, you will be responsible for paying for the entirety of the session. Standard sessions are booked on an hourly basis, but you will only be billed for the time you use.
  • Do I need to be vaccinated to tape at your studio?
    No, we are not requiring actors to be vaccinated for self-tape appointments. However, if you are not feeling well, or displaying any symptoms, please stay home.
  • Are you able to accommodate actors with disability?
    While our main studios are, unfortunately, not accessible, we can arrange an alternative set up when needed. Please advise in your submission form under 'Other Relevant Information' if you are needing this set up.
  • What if I don't have my union card?
    Please contact Member Services to get a new card or a copy of it. Print it out or have it on your phone, ready for verificiation upon arrival.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?
    If you are needing to reschedule or cancel your session, simply advise us through the booking confirmation email. Notice must be sent to tapings@shoreline-studios.com six (6) hours prior to your appointment time.
